The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Roosevelt Students Create Buzz at Board of Education Meeting - 5/15/12
A group of 6th graders from the Community and Service Club did a presentation about bees and humane bee hive removal in an effort to convince the school board to change district policy. Under the current policy, an active bee hive found on a school campus is destroyed. The students received a standing ovation and the board president made a commitment to change the policy with the help of the students.

MESA State Finals
On April 28th, 21 Roosevelt students traveled with 40 other students from San Diego to UC Irvine and competed against almost 50 of southern California's best schools in the MESA finals. Students were disappointed that they did not do as well as the preliminary competition but what they didn't realize is that this was the best of the best. I am very proud of everyone's effort and sportsmanship. Every student was a great ambassador for Roosevelt and SDSU MESA as a whole.
