Liver Walk @ The San Diego Zoo
Registration starts at 6:30 AM. The walk starts at 10 AM. Use the Community and Service Form to document your hours. More information can be found using the attached link.
Community and Service Form
Use the attached form if you participate or volunteer in a community event (such as the upcoming Liver Walk on 5/10). You may receive up to 3 hours.
Southeastern Little League
The league is looking for kids to help out certain days in return for community hours. Southeastern league is located in South East San Diego. The league also needs equipment like gloves, cleats and bats. You can get ONE HOUR for each piece of equipment donated. If you are interested, see Ms Delacruz in Counseling.
Cystic Fibrosis Walk 5/17
Location: De Anza Cove, Mission Bay
Time: 8:00AM
C & S Hours: 3
The event is free but it is still important to get/pledges or donate since it is a fundraiser.
If you don't want to walk, but need hours you can just donate money for one hour per $10. Bring in your shirt as evidence (given out at event).

Weekly after school opportunities
Check in to room 702 after tutoring or at 1:30 on Tuesdays for recycling work.
Room 807 - Ceramics Cleanup
Ms O'Donnell needs help every week cleaning up her classroom Wednesday mornings or after school.
Boxtops for Education
10 minutes of Community and Service for each General Mills boxtop (look for the logo). Drop off boxtops at the STUDENT STORE.
Battery Drive
10 minutes of Community and Service for each battery. Turn in dead batteries to the STUDENT STORE.
Cell Phone Drive
1 hour for each cell phone. Turn in phones in the Library, room 208 or any ATL classroom (101, 201, 355, 706, B16)

IB Festival - Mark your calendars!
The date is Thursday, May 22 from 5:00 - 7:00. We are going to have 6-to-6 and band performances then a break for families to visit team and individual teachers rooms/areas, the night will conclude with a few more performances.
STAR/CST Parent Letter
There is a letter to all Roosevelt parents regarding standardized testing that started on April 23rd. You can find it in the WEB LINKS SECTION of the website.
Don't forget to buy a yearbook!
The 2007-08 yearbook can be purchased form the Financial Office for $25. Prices go up at the end of May. We have an 8th Grade Special in which you can buy 3 years of yearbooks (2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08) for $40 while supplies last.
Science Fair Results
Our kids did a wonderful job at the county science fair. The full results are listed on the link below. Three students will be moving on to the state level in Los Angeles in May! They are: Page Uriarte, Kamala Buchanan, and Kelley Boland.
